Winchester continues its long tradition of manufacturing military-spec ammo with this 240 round case of 7.62x51mm cartridges. Suitable for use in M-14s, FALs, and other 7.62x51mm rifles, these rounds fire a 147 grain full metal jacket bullet at a muzzle velocity of 2,800 feet per second and deliver excellent performance for long-range target shooting.

This ammo ships in two sturdy plastic Winchester-branded ammo cans, each of which features a latch, folding handle, and stackable form factor. You can continue using them long after you've fired the ammo!

The 7.62 NATO cartridge dates to the 1950s, when it replaced the .30-06 Springfield in US military service. It was in turn succeeded by the 5.56 NATO round when the military transitioned from the M-14 to the M-16 as its primary service rifle, but remains in wide use for snipers, machine gunners, and some special forces personnel. Its commercial counterpart, the .308 Winchester, is usually loaded to higher pressures but maintains safe interchangeability.

Winchester ammunition is loaded in the USA using non-corrosive primers and reloadable brass cases.
