350 Legend

Winchester introduced the 350 Legend in 2019, billing it as “the world’s fastest straight-walled hunting cartridge.” The caliber’s performance is very apparently superior when compared to that of other popular hunting rounds; With significantly greater energy than the 30-30 Win, less felt recoil than the 450 Bushmaster, and better penetration than the 243 Win, the 350 Legend boasts several ways that it can outperform what you’re accustomed to chambering during deer season. The 350 Legend does not have a parent case, as Winchester designed it from the ground up to optimize its terminal performance along with its ability to extract from a variety of firearms.

As of its introduction Winchester has started offering variations of their XPR bolt action rifle chambered for the 350 Legend, and CMMG is following suit with their own rifles designed for the caliber as well. Winchester’s inaugural 350 Legend hunting round is from their Deer Season XP line of ammunition, which features a 150 grain Extreme Point projectile. Cartridges with a 145 grain FMJ projectile and a 180 grain Power-Point projectile are available as well.
