A: 1. I'm unaware of any states that ban hollow point ammo for hunting, but I encourage you to confirm with a conservation officer of any state you plan to hunt in.
2. I know California bans bullets that contain lead for hunting. As far as know anywhere that permits the use of lead bullets for hunting will permit copper jacketed bullets as well.
3. That is difficult advice to give during the ongoing ammo drought. I'd advise you look for (a) Black Hills Ammunition 357 Magnum 127 grain HoneyBadger, (b) Underwood 357 Magnum 140 grain Xtreme Penetrator, (c) Barnes VOR-TX 357 Magnum 140 grain XPB, (d) Federal Premium 357 Magnum 140 grain Barnes Expander, or (e) Hornady Handgun Hunter 357 Magnum 130 grain MonoFlex. I wish we had any of these in stock for you!
4. Oh yes, I think you can manage that just fine with a rifle. The general rule for hunting deer and black bear with a 357 Mag rifle is to keep it within 75 to 100 yards. You might want to shorten that range if you're using a copper bullet, since it's lighter and may not deliver as much impact over longer distances. But a copper bullet's superior penetration may compensate for that nicely if you get a good hit on the vitals. I'd say maybe tighten it up to 60 yards just to be sure, but it can certainly be done!

A: This round should work just fine in that firearm.

A: Hi Andrew. Those Remington .357 rounds will safely work in your Taurus revolver just fine. I am glad you are not concerned with recoil though! You're going to get some!

A: I think that the recoil will be stout Alexander, but very controllable. The SP101 is a beast of a snubbie and will soak up a lot of recoil, especially when compared with other small revolvers. By the way, check out this great article about the Wiley Clapp Edition 101! https://www.luckygunner.com/lounge/ruger-sp-101-the-shooters-snub-nose/

A: These rounds can most certainly be used in that Henry. The thing to avoid in tube fed guns is anything with a FMJ and pointed tip. Most soft points, semi jacketed hollow points, such as this round, and even the wadcutter ammo will all work. The only tipped ammo that is safe to use is the Hornady Leverevolution series, as the polymer tip is flexible and will pose no threat of firing a cartridge.
