A Guide to Pistol Caliber Carbines
The most popular pistol cartridge among today's shooters in terms of sales is 9mm, and many would consider a 9mm carbine to be the ideal companion to their handgun. In fact, shooters have expressed interest in all types of pistol caliber carbines but sometimes it can be difficult to get an idea of what the market actually offers in this category. The following is a non-exhaustive list of pistol caliber carbines that have been made available to U.S. civilians. Some of these carbines are no longer made, but may be plentiful on the used market. A few of the carbines that are technically still in production are nevertheless difficult to track down. In either case, if you’re in the market for a pistol caliber rifle, this list should help get you started.
We'd love to keep updating this list as new carbines are made available. We're also happy to correct errors or omissions, but keep in mind that we're providing this primarily as a buyer's guide, so we're intentionally keeping it limited to carbines that have seen a major production run. If you've got a suggestion, please let us know!
