You’re Awesome! Now Tell Us What to Do…

The Lounge officially launched about 10 months ago, but the idea was brewing for years before that. One of the primary aims of Lucky Gunner as a company has always been to provide the best customer experience possible. In fact, the whole inspiration to start Lucky Gunner back in 2008 came from our own experience buying (and waiting) for ammo to arrive that we bought on the web.

Creating a blog like the Lounge seemed like a natural way to continue our mission of adding value for customers as well as for the online shooting community as a whole. We discussed the idea on and off for months, and almost exactly one year ago, the final decision was made and we started working on the first posts.

There was a brief period of time not too long ago when anyone with a keyboard and an internet connection could spew their thoughts into the ether, label it a “blog”, and the readers would flock in by the thousands. When we started the Lounge in 2013, the bar had been set quite a bit higher. We knew we’d have to bring our A-game in order to justify our presence among all the other more established blogs and video channels.

Nearly a year later, we’ve built what is probably the best gun blog on the Internet!

Okay, that’s definitely not the case, but being the best is always our aim. And a lot of you do seem to like reading our posts and watching the videos, so we think that means we’re making progress. We genuinely appreciate all the support in the form of comments, emails, Tweets, and Facebook “Likes.” We’re especially thankful to those of you who have shared Lounge posts with your friends and readers on your own blogs.

This is an incredible time to be a gun owner. There’s always a ton of exciting stuff in the shooting world that we could be talking about and best way for us to know which direction to go in the future is to hear from you directly.

Below is a short list of some topics we’ve covered in the past, followed by a one-question survey. If you have a minute, take a look at the list and let us know what you want to see more of. The poll is multiple choice, but don’t be shy about clicking that “other” option to give us your own ideas.

For the time being, we’re going to continue to leave breaking industry news and politics off the table — there are other guys who cover that stuff much better than we ever could. But pretty much anything else related to shooting is fair game, so let us know what you want to see!

Topics for the Lounge

How To… : These have been some of our most popular (and most controversial) posts. Would you like to see more posts on shooting techniques and advice for home defense and concealed carry, or should we back off to focus on other stuff?
Examples: How to Shoot Your Handgun Faster, How to Use Your Scope Like a Red DotConcealed Carry Tips: How to Stop Worrying About “Printing”

Did You Know… : Some of our education type posts are less “how to” and more “here’s something cool we thought you’d want to know.” This could be guns and ammo history, behind the scenes industry info, or technical explanations.
Examples: The S&W Revolver Lock, The Accuracy Potential of 7.62×39, What is a Boat Tail Bullet?

New Gun Reviews: For our purposes, a “new” gun would be one that’s been released in the last two years or so.
Examples: Sig P938, Ruger LCR-22, Springfield Armory XD-S 4.0

Old Gun Reviews: We haven’t done as many of these as we’d like, but sometimes the guns everybody needs to know about aren’t the ones fresh off the line. “Old” could mean it came out just a few years ago, or a 100 year old antique.
Examples: Kel-Tec Sub 2000, Walther PPCZ-83: When Cheap Doesn’t Mean Cheap

Ammo & Accessories Reviews: We’ve run a couple of ammo reviews, but not really any accessories. We could look at more new ammo products and throw in some reviews of optics, range supplies, holsters, or other gear if you guys are interested.
Examples: Sig Elite Performance Ammo, PCP Polymer Cased Ammo
