A: Safe and good to use? Yes and yes. Bond Arms even published a 2017 review of their 45 ACP Backup derringer in which the writer tires out 185 grain FTX loads: bondarms.com/review-bond-arms-handguns-cheaper-dirt/. (Heaven help the poor snake who gets whopped with a 45 Long Colt FTX.)

A: Hi Shane,
This Hornady LEVERevolution 45 Colt round is a copper-jacketed, lead round with a brass case and a polymer tip. The part of the projectile that is exposed is copper-jacketed. Beneath the polymer tip, this round is a hollow-point round with a lead core.
