We don’t expect the U.S. Armed Forces to start issuing plastic ammo cans (aka field boxes) anytime soon. Our troops need the solidity of steel to keep their invaluable materiel safe and fresh on inhospitable battlefields. You, on the other hand, will (hopefully) never have to bring your own personal ammo to a battlefield, which is why you can get away with a slightly less durable and significantly more economical field box!

This convenient forest green ammo container is made of heavy-duty injection molded plastic. As a .50 cal field box, its interior dimensions are roughly 11" x 5.5" x 7". With that kind of storage capacity you’ll be able to store and haul around about 2,200 loose rounds of 9mm, or half as many loose rounds of 5.56/223. The field box’s handle folds down when you don’t need it, and its lid’s rubber gasket seals out atmospheric moisture and other substances you don’t want touching your goods.
