NOTE: The details and information pertaining to Connecticut gun and ammo laws are meant as a reference point only. As you're likely aware, Connecticut firearm laws change frequently so talk to your lawyer or your local law enforcement agency before making any final firearms related decisions.
Connecticut state laws are more restrictive than most other states. In Connecticut, you cannot buy ammo without a handgun carry permit, gun sales permit, or long-gun/handgun eligibility certificate. Ammunition certificates are issued by the state's Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection. Like many other states, armor piercing rounds are illegal. Connecticut also prohibits the sale and possession of magazines with capacities of more than 10 rounds. Of course, all federal laws also apply in the Constitution State.
Lucky Gunner is able to ship ammunition to our fellow shooters in Connecticut so long as they meet the following requirements:
The ammo purchase must be made by someone at least 21 years old.
The buyer must provide at least one of the following, which is valid and non-expired: permit to carry a pistol or revolver issued under CT law; permit to sell at retail a pistol or revolver issued under CT law; eligibility certificate for a pistol or revolver issued under CT law; long gun eligibility certificate issued under CT law; or ammunition certificate issued under CT law.
The buyer must provide a valid, non-expired driver's license, passport, or other government-issued photo ID. Please note, military IDs are not permissible because it is illegal to copy them.
Lucky Gunner cannot ship magazines with capacities of more than 10 rounds to Connecticut.
