A: Thanks for reaching out Daniel! To be sure, Lucky Gunner doesn't manufacture ammunition. We're a retailer. This ammo was loaded by Armscor, and from your impression of it it sounds like their propellant produces too much smoke. I don't know this ammo's powder formula, and that's not information Armscor would share with me. That said, lower-velocity cowboy loads are known to produce a little more smoke than what most folks consider to be usual. It's also probably that Armscor put a little lubricant on this ammo's pure lead bullets, which does burn off during ignition to produce additional smoke. Fortunately it's nothing regular cleaning won't take care of!

A: Thanks for reaching out J! This is full-power SAAMI spec ammo, not the lower-power Cowboy Action loads. If you're looking for that I'd recommend HSM's Cowboy Action line of ammunition, it's right up there among the best!

A: Thanks for reaching out Steve! I would advise against it. It's my understanding that Colt discontinued that model in 1907 – at least one year before they officially endorsed firing smokeless powder in any of their SAA revolvers. It could be safe, but there's a significant risk that it's not!
