Underwood didn’t load this 9mm Makarov ammo for defense against conventional urban threats. It is designed to teach manners to aggressive animals instead!
A hard cast bullet is made of heavily alloyed lead. It is substantially harder than normal, and can reliably tunnel its way to a black bear or hog’s heart as a result. To put it another way, the hard cast bullet invests almost all of its energy into inflicting the deepest possible wound channel. And because it has a flat nose profile, it still manages to stamp an injurious hole through its recipient in the process.
Underwood coats this round’s bullet in Hi-Tek. It is a polymer-based compound which reduces fouling and abrasion of the barrel, and eliminates airborne contamination as well.
