A: Thanks for reaching out Mark! This is not overpressure ammunition. It is nothing your Shield isn't designed to safely handle. It will not accelerate wear and tear on the pistol, either. You can also safely fire 9mm +P ammunition, although that will wear out your Shield's moving parts and barrel faster.

A: Thanks for reaching out Devane! XTP stands for "eXtreme Terminal Performance." It's just a brand name Hornady uses for this specific type of jacketed hollow point bullet. You can learn more about it on their company page: hornady.com/bullets/xtp#!/

A: Thanks for reaching out Terry! We have not personally tested this ammunition in the Taurus GX4, although I see no reason why this high-quality self-defense ammo shouldn't function correctly in that pistol. We're not affiliated with this gentleman, but for what it's worth he did test Hornady's 9mm +P ammo in the GX4 and showed that it works very well: youtube.com/watch?v=gXDwxPb1XQQ&ab_channel=Tools%26Targets
