A: Hi Robert! I regret that I cannot in good faith predict whether your Canik will like this ammo or not. Certain handguns are picky! From the sound of things, it may indeed have difficulty feeding this round's oddly shaped bullet.

By: James Blankenfeld
A: Hi James! I'm afraid we do not have any test data for either round, but it stands to reason that the Underwood would probably achieve a bit more penetration due to the slightly higher bullet weight.

By: James R Chappell
A: Thanks for reaching out James! Underwood recorded this round's 1,400 fps muzzle velocity with a 4" test barrel. Your P938 has a 3" barrel, assuming you haven't modified it. Unfortunately, there's no formula I can use to accurately estimate how much slower this round's muzzle velocity would become in conjunction with a 3" barrel – that's information only a chronograph is qualified to provide. That said, I think it would be reasonable for you to expect a muzzle velocity of 1,300 fps.

A: Thanks for reaching out Carlos! While this cartridge has indeed got a lightweight bullet, it still meets SAAMI specs thanks to its faster than average 1,400 fps muzzle velocity. While I cannot guarantee reliable performance in a handgun I have not tested myself, I do believe this ammo will generate adequate chamber pressure to fully cycle your Sarsılmaz pistol even if its recoil spring is relatively tight.

A: Thanks for reaching out Sean! This ammo is designed to function safely and reliably in any 9mm firearm.

By: Herbert Long
A: Thanks for reaching out Herbert! This is not +P ammo. Its muzzle velocity is certainly higher than the typical 9mm round's, but that's the product of its lightweight 90 grain bullet, not a higher power propellant charge. A 90 grain bullet loaded to a muzzle velocity of 1,400 fps still generates less than 35,000 psi chamber pressure, which is the threshold for +P per SAAMI specs.
It's only dangerous to fire 9mm +P ammo in older handguns that aren't designed to absorb the greater chamber pressure. A modern handgun like the M&P 9mm EZ can fire +P ammo perfectly safely. The only thing to consider is that +P ammo will wear out a semi-auto's moving parts faster. That means it's not advisable for target practice, but it's really not a problem as far as self-defense is concerned.

A: Thanks for reaching out Jonnie! I'm not remotely qualified to interpret state law, so please don't take anything I say as legal advice. That said, this isn't hollow point ammunition, so I'm uncertain whether it's barred for CCW under your state law.

A: Thanks for reaching out Angel! I'm uncertain when we'll publish a gel test for this ammo, but this fellow on YouTube has already done one if you'd like to have a watch:

A: Thanks for reaching out John! This ammo should treat any semi-automatic pistol properly, your G2c included. Despite its unconventional bullet it's still loaded to SAAMI specs, so it's not going to generate chamber pressure that could damage your handgun. A solid copper bullet has the added advantage of being incapable of depositing lead fouling in the barrel.

A: Yes sir, your handgun is designed to safely fire 9mm +P.

A: Yes, Staccato's pistols are designed to safely fire +P ammunition. This ammo will wear out your semi-auto's moving parts faster, although that's really not of concern for ammo you'd only employ for self-defense.

By: FLOYD BEDDINGFIELD
A: Hello Floyd! Just to be sure, this isn't hollow point ammunition. The bullet is made of solid copper and doesn't expand inside soft tissue. It's shaped like a drill bit and uses fluid physics to essentially "stir" a giant wound cavity into its target.
But that's beside the point. The Springfield XD-M is in fact designed to safely fire 9mm +P ammunition. Overpressure ammo like this will wear out your semi-auto's moving parts faster. That's really not of concern for ammo you'd only use in self-defense, but you would not want to do a lot of high volume shooting (i.e. target practice) with 9mm +P.

A: Absolutely Kurt, this is extremely potent self-defense ammo and it should function very well in your handgun.

By: Sean Nelson
A: Hi Sean! Interestingly enough, this ammo actually reduces the chance of overpenetration. A traditional hollow point bullet may fail to expand, which in turn will increase its likelihood of overpenetrating. This ammo's bullet doesn't rely on expansion to translate its forward motion into outward force, though, so it consistently slows within soft tissue as it disperses its available energy outward. Sure, overpenetration is always a risk, but it's less of one with a Fluid Transfer Monolithic bullet like this.

By: Arnold Watson
A: Without question! This ammo is high quality, reliable, and low recoil, and its bullet devastates as it penetrates up to 18" in soft tissue while excavating a tremendous wound channel. I'm a huge fan of monolithic bullets because they cause so little fouling, have a profile that feeds more easily in a semi-auto than a traditional JHP, and haven't got nose cavities that could clog up with fabric. This ammo should run great in your wife's M&P, too.
