A: Hello Chuck! I cannot speak for what that department of Lucky Gunner is up to at the moment, but I will tell them you are specifically interested in Fort Scott and Underwood 9mm ammo and its performance out of a subcompact. If you are interested, there is a good video comparing the TUI and Xtreme Defender (which is made by Lehigh Defense) to other popular self-defense bullets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgG4aKhUl14 (skip to 18 minutes in if you just want to see your bullets in action).

A: Thanks for reaching out Russell! I'd like to refer your concern to the manufacturer of your firearm to see what they say. Would you be so kind as to tell me who made your handgun?

By: Emilio D'Alise
A: Hello again Emilio! This round's bullet is made of solid copper. That metal is a lot less dense than lead, so I believe it would be impossible to load a 147 grain monolithic copper 9mm bullet and still have room in the case for propellant. That said, as a +P load this round should generate more than adequate chamber pressure to cycle a semi-auto pistol or carbine. The bullet is lightweight, true, but the enhanced pressure the round must generate in order to qualify as +P is the relevant variable here. In short, I anticipate no cycling issues with this ammo – with the caveat that every firearm behaves differently, and I cannot reasonably promise seamless functionality out of a firearm I have not inspected and tested out myself.

By: Emilio D'Alise
A: Thanks for reaching out Emilio! A +P round will necessarily generate greater chamber pressure and resultant recoil, even if its bullet is significantly lighter than usual. The warnings about +P ammo in your handguns' manuals really only advise against firing a whole lot of +P during target practice. Since you plan on only firing the ammo to get a feel for its recoil and ballistics, any accelerated wear you inflict to your handguns' moving parts will in fact be negligible. Exactly how much recoil you will perceive, however, is totally subjective – the product of your nervous system, the weight of your arms, and other biometric variables which defy my estimation. Many shooters, myself included, barely notice greater recoil from +P at all. I'm afraid you can only see for yourself whether this ammo's boosted recoil is detrimental to its performance!

A: Thank you for reaching out Chris! I am nearly certain your PT99 is rated for +P, but that's not certain enough. I'm going to reach out to Taurus on your behalf and update this comment as soon as I hear back from them.
UPDATE: Chris, I was wrong! Taurus just told me that all of their their firearms predating 1997 are not rated for +P ammunition.

A: Thanks for reaching out Donna! We can certainly help you.
Our inventory is a bit low at the moment owing to the ongoing ammo drought., but the ammo on this page will work well for self-defense with your handgun. An S&W is designed to safely fire 9mm +P (assuming it is remotely modern). Overpressure ammo like this will wear out your semi-auto's moving parts a little faster, but that's hardly of concern for self-defense.
I'm not certain exactly which handgun you have, but I'm sure we haven't got its magazine (what you call a clip) in stock. We have got several holsters that are suitable for S&W 9mm handguns. Without knowing which model you have I'm hesitant to make a definitive recommendation, but this holster by Blackhawk is great if you want to tuck a full-size S&W M&P 9mm in your waistband: luckygunner.com/holster-inside-the-pants-blackhawk-right-hand-glock-17-22-31-s-w-m-p-full-size-9mm-40-s-w

A: Absolutely Tanya, the M&P EZ is rated to fire 9mm +P. Just take care that overpressure ammo like this will wear out a semi-automatic handgun's moving parts faster. That is not a problem at all as far as self-defense is concerned, of course. And I'm happy to say we can ship ammo to anyone older that 21 in Florida!

A: Yes sir, your A-70 should have no trouble firing 9mm +P ammunition.

By: Trudy
A: Hello Trudy! I'm happy to say that we can ship any 9mm ammo to New Jersey. That said, there are certain laws in New Jersey which govern what kind of ammo you can carry around. I can't give you legal advice, but I'd recommend reading this page from the NJSP website: njsp.org/firearms/transport-hollowpoint.shtml

By: BC
A: Hi BC! I don't want to say it's completely lead-free. This ammo very likely has a trace amount of lead in its primer. Its bullet is solid copper and free of any lead, though.

A: I'm happy to say we can! We can ship to anyone there so long as they're 21 or older.

A: Hi Willy! We can't ship to Buffalo or Rochester in addition to the city, and we can only ship to FFL holders, but we do indeed ship to New York. You can learn more about our shipping to New York here: luckygunner.com/new-york-ammo-sales#place-2

By: Carlos Pagan
A: He Carlos! I expect you should be just fine. The Xtreme Defender bullet doesn't have a wide brim/nose profile like a conventional JHP. Its narrower nose profile is more like that of an FMJ. I've reached out to Taurus for a second opinion which I'll share with you ASAP, but again, I see no reason why you should have any problems!

A: Sorry Tony, but due to state law we can't ship anything to Massachusetts.

A: I'm afraid not! 9mm is incompatible with 380 Auto firearms. Even if this cartridge were capable of chambering in your handgun, it would only succeed in blowing it up. You can only fire 380 Auto (aka 380 ACP), which I regret not having in stock for you at this very moment. We do update our site frequently, thoguh, so I hope you''ll check back in soon to see how we can be of greater help!

By: Hollis Spence
A: Hi Hollis! The Xtreme Defender does not have a nose cavity. It's designed to create a massive wound cavity without one.
