This cartridge is loaded with a 70 grain solid copper (i.e. lead-free) hollow point projectile. It is the High Energy Retaining Ordnance (HERO) Maximum Expansion SCHP by Lehigh Defense, which avoids expanding during contact with dry mediums (e.g. plywood, drywall and sheet metal). The HERO instead is designed to initiate expansion upon entering soft tissue, at which instant it unfolds six flat, rectangular petals that devastate whichever organs they cross paths with.
This is not overpressure ammunition. It is standard pressure. Granted, its 1,650 fps muzzle velocity (4” test barrel) is scorching fast, and the reason why the bullet strikes its target with superior force. But the monolithic HERO Maximum Expansion only attains such fast speed because it weighs 70 grains: far lighter than any lead bullet could weigh.
Nickel-plated brass cases to protect against corrosion. Flash-suppressed powder that won’t instantly blind you at night. The reliability that can only come from one of America’s preeminent ammo makers. Yours soon with Lucky Gunner’s fast shipping. An excellent choice for defense with any 9mm firearm!
