This round is loaded with a 147 grain jacketed hollow point, dubbed the “Starfire” by PMC. It gets this name from the shape it takes after terminal expansion has finished: a five-pointed star, just like many of the major American brands’ premium defensive JHPs. The Starfire’s brass jacket isn’t bonded, yet it’s rugged enough to conquer heavy clothing and other common barriers nevertheless. And despite being a JHP, its profile is also conducive to smooth feeding in all makes and models of semi-autos.
This ammo originates in South Korea, where it is loaded with premium brass cases of PMC’s own creation. PMC has been hard at it since 1968, and currently serves as the Korean military’s chief ammo producer.
