This cartridge is loaded with a 147 grain bullet. That’s the heaviest specimen you’d typically find seated in a 9mm case. But its heavy bullet’s inertia alone isn’t the only reason behind this round’s leisurely 850 fps muzzle velocity. It has a slightly weaker propellant charge as well.
What does this mean for performance? Well, a subsonic muzzle velocity is accompanied by a softer report. That’s going to help your suppressor do its job more effectively, although you can expect quieter performance even if you haven’t added a “can” to your firearm. A subsonic muzzle velocity produces steeper bullet drop, but it also completely avoids the problem of a bullet losing in-flight stability while its velocity transfers from supersonic to subsonic.
Armscor’s full metal jacket bullet will feed easily and prevent rapid barrel fouling. It also won’t attract a magnet, as the Filipino manufacturer does not cheapen their FMJ projectiles by including steel in their jackets. Armscor also produces the Boxer-primed brass cases handloaders need in order to practice the art of handloading.
