The Streak bullet doesn’t generate any heat as it glows bright crimson. It just has a special trick up its sleeve: a luminescent dot on its base, which reflects muzzle flash back toward the shooter so they can plainly see the projectile’s path as it courses downrange. (For best results fire Streak ammunition at night, dusk or in an indoor range.)
If the Streak bullet didn’t have a luminescent base, it would simply be a 124 grain total metal jacket. The TMJ ensures cleaner performance thanks to its fully encapsulated lead core. Hot propellant gasses cannot burn lead off the TMJ during ignition, which means you will neither inhale The TMJ’s lead core nor have to clean it out of your rifling.
