This round’s 124 grain bullet is a full metal jacket flat point. It is designed to inflict the deepest wound channel possible, although it is not designed to expand at all. This would be considered subpar terminal ballistics as far as engaging a human threat is concerned. But when it comes to dangerous game animals, which have thick, muscly and gristly bodies, the deepest possible penetration is exactly what you want.
This is an overpressure cartridge. A standard 9mm has a max pressure of 35,000 psi. A 9mm +P has a max pressure of 38,500 psi: a 10% increase. That comes at the cost of greater recoil and accelerated firearm deterioration, but the payoff is well worth it: more power. At 502 ft lbs, this round’s muzzle energy is higher than some 40 S&W loads’!
This ammo is strictly intended for +P rated 9mm firearms. It will potentially destroy an antique.
