A: Thanks for reaching out Jeff! My top recommendation would be the ammunition on this very page – Federal HST 124gr JHP. This is police grade ammo (only its packaging is different). It excels at penetrating soft tissue to a consistent depth, even if it first has to penetrate a barrier like thick clothing or sheet metal, and its terminal expansion is extremely consistent as well. The only ammo that rivals Federal HST in my opinion is Speer Gold Dot, which is also police grade. Your P365 is rated for +P, so if you'd like to hit your target harder at the expense of greater recoil, I'd wholeheartedly recommend this ammo (so long as you pick either, you'll be as well prepare as possible): https://www.luckygunner.com/9mm-luger-p-124-grain-hp-speer-le-gold-dot-50-rounds

A: Thanks for reaching out Chris! This would be a good choice of self-defense ammo with your LCR. It's important to note that Federal recorded this round's 1,150 fps muzzle velocity with a 4" test barrel. The LCR's barrel is only 1.87", so its muzzle velocity will be lower. It is impossible to give you an exact figure without doing a chronograph test, but I would reasonably estimate that you could expect a muzzle velocity in the ballpark of 975 fps. That would place your muzzle energy at 262 ft lbs, which is pretty much the average kinetic energy recommended as a minimum for self-defense. The HST projectile should exhibit at least some degree of terminal expansion at velocities as low as 800 to 850 fps, so unless you're using your snubby to defend yourself against a threat standing over 25 yards away this ammo should have you well prepared.

A: Thanks for reaching out Christopher! Police departments use a lot of different types of ammo, and they even different types of pistol cartridges. That said, Federal's HST ammo is one of the most popular choices among law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.

A: Thanks for reaching out Bernard! The best 9mm JHP ammo that we currently have in stock, in my opinion, is the Speer Gold Dot 147gr JHP:

This is top notch American-made self-defense ammo that should function perfectly in your G43X. It is cop ammo, able to penetrate a variety of barriers effectively and deliver highly reliable terminal expansion. If you order this ammo you don't have to worry about whether you could have done better.

A: Hi Jim! This is simply a Federal packaging nomenclature where the P9HST1 is a 50-round box and the P9HST1S is a 20-round box of the exact same product.
