Swedes have taken on a reputation for cuteness and cuddliness in recent decades, but don’t let that gloss over the fact that they are a people who know how to fight. As Vikings they ravaged any part of the world their ships could reach. At the Battle of Zusmarshausen they nearly annihilated the Holy Roman Empire’s forces (with a little help from the French.) And today, the Scandinavian country’s Särskilda operationsgruppen are just about the last guys you’d ever want to run afoul of on a battlefield.

In that great tradition of fighting arose Norma, which produces about 30 million rounds of ammunition in 110 calibers every year. One of those calibers is 9mm, needless to say, and this 9mm range ammo is perfect whether you’re training to fight like a Swede or simply wish to spend your summer afternoon giving empty cans the business.

This 9mm cartridge is capped off with a 124 grain bullet, the middleweight for its caliber. In spite of its bullet’s weight this round still boasts a 1,200 fps muzzle velocity, which is faster than a lot of commercially loaded 115 grain cartridges. You’ll receive both peppy recoil and a flat trajectory, with less than 12 inches of bullet drop at 150 yards. As an FMJ this round’s bullet doesn’t expand within its target to suit it for self-defense, but its economical, smooth feeding, clean shooting, and aerodynamic design makes it the master of the pistol range.

These 1,000 rounds will give you 1,000 great brass cases for handloading, and they’ll continue to feed and extract fluidly even after you’ve breathed life back into them a few times. Norma’s Boxer primers are non-corrosive to safeguard your handgun against rusting, and their clean burning propellant reduces the kind of carbon fouling that impacts the bore’s ability to stabilize a projectile.
