A: Thanks for reaching out Steve! Speer has not discontinued this ammunition. The only difference between the Personal Protection and Law Enforcement lines of ammunition is the packaging: 20 rounds per box versus 50.

A: There should not be anything to worry about regarding this ammunition in terms of quality, safety, or reliability. While the trade-in term sounds like a used or secondhand phrase, this is not the case with the ammo. Most law enforcement ammunition available to the public is received through contract over runs, a purchase or production of more than [ they ] originally needed. It may be possible a department is switching around calibers. Chances are it may come down to the politics of it all, but the good news is that it is now available. You should expect the same performance and accuracy you always do from Speer with these Gold Dot rounds.
