A: Thanks for reaching out Gordon! That is indeed the M1152 round's pressure according to American Rifleman – spicy indeed, but like you say, it's nothing any modern handgun isn't designed to safely handle. Perhaps you should expect accelerated wear to a semi-auto's moving parts like you would with 9mm +P, but for hunting that's hardly a great concern.

A: Thanks for reaching out Brian! Personally, I'd always recommend hollow point ammo for personal protection over an FMJ as it helps to prevent dangerous overpenetration. HOWEVER, seeing that the M1152 cartridge was developed specifically for use by the U.S. Military – and the U.S. Military doesn't exactly limit their handgun use to shooting ranges – your suspicion that this ammo would be effective for personal protection is extremely correct. Its muzzle velocity is going to become even greater with a PCC's longer barrel, too.

A: Yes sir, without question.

A: Yes sir, the M1 ought to run M1152 just fine. The M1's rated for +P, so it'll safely run hotter ammo. I just don't think you'd want to feed yours a steady diet of this ammo.

A: Thanks for reaching out Ron! I'm unaware of any significant differences between the two. They're both loaded to military specifications. M1152 spec ammo just happens to be loaded hot, and creates chamber pressure comparable to a +P round.

A: Thanks for reaching out Norm! Although it's not technically classified as a +P cartridge, the U.S. Army's M1152 specification calls for such a fast muzzle velocity that this cartridge produces far greater pressure than a standard SAAMI spec 9mm round. We want our customers to be sure that this ammo has a lot more juice than the usual 9mm they're accustomed to.
