GECO goes back all the way to 1887, when they were founded as Gustav Genschow & Co by a German rifle manufacturer. (Needless to say Herr Genschow enjoyed plenty of business until he passed in 1940.) Today GECO is owned by RUAG, a massive Swiss holding company that specializes in the aerospace and defense industries. Huge in Europe, GECO’s ammo also regularly finds its way to America so we can enjoy firing it too!

This kind of 9mm cartridge is the range shooter’s stock-in-trade. With its 115 grain bullet it reliably achieves a supersonic muzzle velocity out of essentially any pistol capable of firing it. As an FMJ the bullet does nothing fancier than feed and fire. Without terminal expansion it’s less than ideal for self-defense, so you should prefer to keep it at the range where your targets can’t fight back. Great for training with compact and full-size handguns as well as carbines!

GECO draws and cuts brass cases with the precision befitting of so massive an operation. Their primers and propellant are both modern and clean burning, and their bullets contain no steel that could perturb a rangemaster.
