This is exactly the kind of ammo you need for the range. At 115 grains its bullet is the lightest typically available in factory-loaded 9mm, and while supersonic at 1,125 fps its muzzle velocity isn’t so great that it produces overwhelming recoil. The FMJ has a copper alloy jacket and rounded nose profile, two features which promote the most reliable feeding in a semi-automatic firearm.
This bullet’s core is made of pure lead. There is no steel anywhere in this cartridge that would have made it magnetic. The FMJ design is economical because it is not engineered to expand inside of soft tissue. There are countless better options for self-defense on the market, so keep this ammo at the range.
This ammo is fresh from Federal’s factory in Minnesota. Its cases are sparkling new and made of newly rolled brass, so they will chamber neatly and remain reloadable once fired. Federal’s primer is completely noncorrosive to prevent rust and pitting in the barrel, and their clean-burning propellant helps keep a firearm more accurate throughout a range session.
This ammo is suitable for all firearms chambered for 9mm. Note that 9mm is also known as “9mm Luger” and “9x19.” They are all different names for the same ammo, so a Glock will fire these cartridges even though the Austrian handgun’s slide says “9x19.”
