This cartridge fires a 285 grain projectile: 1,050 fps muzzle velocity out of a 16” long 1:3” twist barrel, which is around 75 fps lower than the speed of sound. You’ll hear a decently quiet report even if you aren’t firing through a suppressor, as well as the great accuracy which can only come from a bullet that never undergoes transonic destabilization.
The bullet is the Tumble Upon Impact, or TUI. It is a Solid Copper Spun projectile: lead-free, and manufactured on a CNC lathe to ensure perfect uniformity in weight distribution and exterior dimensions. The TUI doesn’t expand on impact – but it does live up to its name, as it rotates end over end to inflict massive trauma to its target.
This cartridge is loaded with 15.8 grains of fast-burning Hodgdon Accurate 1680 propellant, as well as the new brass case you’ll need to make your own custom 8.6 BLK at home. We encourage handloading, even if it ultimately means less business for us!
