Finally, the right ammo for hunting deer and hogs with your old Mauser rifle! This 7x57mm Mauser cartridge is made in the Czech Republic by Sellier & Bellot, and it is loaded with the seldom seen soft point cutting edge bullet. The SPCE provides terminal expansion in the same fashion as a normal soft point – that is to say its exposed lead core forces the bullet to mash down and produce a wider wound cavity during penetration.
Observe the bullet and you’ll notice its cutting edge feature right away. Its ridge causes the bullet to stamp a wider, cleaner entry wound into hide and soft tissue, which inflicts a greater injury even if the bullet passes through the quarry before its soft point can supply any terminal expansion.
This brass-cased, reloadable, Boxer-primed and non-corrosive hunting cartridge’s 173 grain bullet has a 0.376 G1 ballistic coefficient. That lets it retain at least 1,500 ft lbs of energy until 189 yards, or 1,000 ft lbs of energy until 382 yards.
