That’s why Fiocchi loaded this round with the Hornady InterLock. It is a finely tuned soft point, which features a flat base and sleek frontal profile that give it a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.462 (24” test barrel). If (A) 1.5” high sights and (B) 200-yard zero, then (C) 2,355 ft lbs striking energy on impact and (D) -7.5” drop at 300 yards; -21.7” drop at 400; -43.7” drop at 500.
The InterLock is named after a feature which promotes higher weight retention. In addition to its InterLock ring, it also has a cannelure which similarly binds its lead core and thick copper jacket shank together. These elements help the InterLock pierce deeply through sinew as its notched, tapered frontal jacket springs into action to ensure deadly-wide expansion.
Once this round’s 175 grain bullet has vacated its case, you will still have a quality reloadable case to remember it by. Made in Missouri by magic ammo elves (aka Missourians).
