Owners of M-14s, FALs, and other 7.62 NATO rifles will appreciate the long-range accuracy and reasonable price of this Winchester "white box" ammo. These cartridges come packed in a box of 20 and fire a 147 grain full metal jacket bullet at a muzzle velocity of 2,800 feet per second.

While 7.62 NATO and .308 Winchester are not identical, it is considered safe (according to industry standard setter SAAMI) to fire 7.62 NATO ammunition in a rifle chambered for .308 Winchester and vice versa.

Ammunition manufacturing is Winchester's core business. While Winchester firearms are license produced, the company makes its own ammo and has a solid reputation among gun owners and law enforcement officers. Winchester ammo comes in a wide variety of types for different purposes, with economical "white box" ammo being the best value for target shooting.

Winchester ammunition is made in Oxford, Mississippi using non-corrosive Boxer primers and brass cases. The Oxford plant opened in late 2011 and is one of the up to date ammunition plants in the world.
