A: Thanks for reaching out Karl! Despite sharing virtually identical dimensions, the 7.62x51 NATO is loaded to a slightly lower chamber pressure than the 308 Win. That's why it's safe to fire the NATO round in 308 rifles. I am a little bit confused by your question, though, because a rifle that was manufactured in 1935 cannot possibly be chambered for a cartridge that wasn't designed until 1952. As such I'm not confident recommending any type of ammo for your rifle.
