Its gilding metal jacket inhibits terminal expansion, but it’s hard enough to reduce barrel fouling and resist deformation under the intense pressure of ignition. Its boat tail makes the bullet more streamlined, lessening the amount of drag it encounters in flight. This bullet’s 0.406 G1 ballistic coefficient keeps it supersonic beyond 1,000 yards (if fired from a 24” barrel).
