Atomic’s Tactical Cycling Subsonic 7.62x39 ammunition is a great choice for quieter training, but it will also hold its own if you enlist it for home defense. This ammo makes an AK-47 or SKS quiet!

This round features Sierra’s 220 grain MatchKing, a match grade hollow point boat tail bullet that is enhanced to deliver great accuracy. The MatchKing’s jacket is drawn to nearly perfect concentricity to keep the bullet stable in flight, and its boat tail cuts down on wind deflection while helping to retain greater velocities downrange. Although it’s technically a hollow point, the MatchKing does not mushroom when it meets with resistance from soft tissue.

220 grains is extremely heavy for a 7.62x39 bullet. That tamps this round’s muzzle velocity down to only 1,050 fps, which makes it about as quiet as the average 22 LR. Its chamber pressure is still sufficient to fully cycle a semi-automatic firearm, and while its bullet may not expand it does strikes its target with energy comparable to a 40 S&W. That’s great for indoor tactical situations where you can’t wear hearing protection but don’t want to deafen yourself!

Atomic proudly loads this SAAMI spec ammunition in Phoenix, Arizona, with new brass cases and high-quality primers and propellant.
