You don’t see soft point 7.62x39 nearly as much as you do the full metal jacket variety. Now’s your chance to stock up on great AK and SKS ammo for target shooting and varmint hunting alike!

This round’s 154 grain bullet weighs heavier than normal. Its muzzle velocity is going to be a little slower because of that, but the more massive bullet should resist wind deflection and strike its target with greater energy. The bullet’s exposed lead core enables it to expand outward while it penetrates soft tissue – perfect for when you’re trying to pin down a critter.

This round’s SP projectile has a bi-metal jacket. It is almost entirely made out of soft steel, with a paper-thin copper coating on the exterior. The bullet will attract a magnet, which is something you should take note of if you ever go to a range which doesn’t allow magnetic ammo.

MAXXTech Essential Steel ammunition is loaded with steel cases. Steel cases’ mouths cannot expand as effectively as brass ones’, which is why this ammo will produce more fouling inside the action. Steel cases also aren’t reloadable. But this ammo is much more affordable thanks to its near absence of brass, and its Berdan primers are absolutely noncorrosive. MAXXTech is headquartered in Serbia; this ammunition is made for them by Tula of Russia.
