Some days you eat the bear. Some days, the bear eats you. But the bear can give you a great deal on AK-47 ammunition any day of the week, so long as you know which bear to ask – the Brown Bear!

This 7.62x39 cartridge is good for a variety of applications thanks to its 124 grain soft point bullet. With its exposed core that elicits rapid expansion and partial jacket that prevents it from tearing apart, this bullet will create a nasty wound channel in hog, deer, and home intruder alike. And because the soft point is a cost-effective bullet design, you won’t regret plowing a few mags worth of this ammo into a target at the rifle range!

This round is made at the Barnaul Cartridge Plant, and like many Russian rounds features an economical steel shell casing. It’s coated in a thin layer of brownish polymer, which not only gives a Brown Bear round its name but further helps it to cycle more efficiently through a semi-automatic weapon. This round’s Berdan primer isn’t like what you would find in old military surplus, as it is non-corrosive to prevent rust and save you extra steps during cleaning. Just remember that steel casing plus Berdan primer equals non-reloadable.
