If we had to guess, we’d say that more than a couple of guys with names like Alexei and Dmitri have used the 7.62x39 to harvest medium game. But they probably didn’t do it with a bullet as high-quality as Remington’s Core-Lokt!

This 7.62x39 cartridge features Remington’s most popular soft point bullet design. The Core-Lokt combines a solid lead core and tapered copper jacket that work together to deliver up to 2X terminal expansion. But this round’s pointed soft point won’t just punch a ~0.62” hole into your quarry. It will also bore a lethally deep wound channel, as the Core-Lokt’s core and jacket excel at withstanding high-velocity impact without splintering apart.

Once it achieves its advertised muzzle velocity of 2,365 fps, this round’s streamlined 125 grain PSP exhibits a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.267. That makes its effective range for whitetail approximately 150 yards, at which distance the bullet still conserves over 1,000 ft lbs of kinetic energy. (A skilled hunter like yourself can take it out even farther, of course.)

This is American-made ammo, not Russian, and as such features nonmagnetic projectiles, noncorrosive Boxer primers, and virgin brass reloadable cases.
