This cartridge’s 123 grain Controlled Chaos projectile is a solid copper hollow point. It is designed to wreak maximum damage inside game, as well as minimize the risk of pass through. The lead-free Controlled Chaos penetrates flesh to a predetermined depth, at which instant it explosively fragments apart. The burst of copper shrapnel excavates a large temporary wound cavity, and also extends multiple smaller wound channels in multiple directions. Underwood claims the energy spike massively disrupts the quarry’s circulatory and nervous systems, which is another way of saying “hunt: successful.”
Underwood’s flash-suppressed propellant is a great bonus if you ever fire in the dark. Less light helps keep eyesight acclimated to dark surroundings. This ammo’s nickel-plated brass cases make it an even better deal if you like smooth, positive functionality out of your semi-automatic rifle. Made in the USA, and a great pick for the Ruger American Rifle!
