Hornady invented the 6mm ARC, and their Match series ammo is the most accurate they produce for the commercial market. This cartridge features a 108 grain ELD Match projectile, complete with Hornady’s proprietary Heat Shield tip which does not warp while it’s abused by aerodynamic heating. The perfect tip gives way to the perfect jacket, which has a low-drag secant ogive profile and perfectly uniform thickness throughout its entire length. The ELD Match also includes a boat tail which only decreases drag even further.
All these features mesh together to create a bullet with a 0.536 G1/0.270 G7 ballistic coefficient. If fired from a rifle with a 24” barrel and 1.5” high sights, the ELD Match will reach 200 yards in 0.23 seconds and then exhibit -7.8” drop another 100 yards downrange.
