This cartridge is loaded with its Nebraskan manufacturer’s world-famous V-MAX. The specialized varmint hunting bullet provides the stellar accuracy you need to pick off small, burrowing targets courtesy of its aerodynamic polymer tip, swaged lead core, match grade Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket and flat base. The 110 grain V-MAX achieves a 2,550 fps muzzle velocity once it clears a 16” barrel, at which rate its 0.370 G1 ballistic coefficient ensures it will stay subsonic until it reaches 802 yards – about 500 yards farther than the 6.8 SPC’s effective range.
The V-MAX doesn’t just hit its mark. It also thoroughly decimates it by initiating explosive fragmentation beginning at the instant of impact. The polymer tip reaches deep down into a precision formed nose cavity in the V-MAX’s lead core, stopping just shy of touching the bottom. The shaft builds up considerable energy before connecting with the base, at which point it forces the core and jacket to burst apart. This round’s V-MAX will exhibit its full terminal ballistics at ranges up to 456 yards!
