Move over, 6.5 CM … let your big brother show you how it’s done. Barnes loaded this Precision Match 6.5 PRC cartridge for shooters who know how to aim over staggeringly long distances. It’s just what the doctor ordered if you’re trying to make steel ring a thousand yards away.
This cartridge is loaded with the Match Burner: Barnes’ own open tip match boat tail projectile. Its razor thin and highly concentric copper jacket conceals a form-fitted lead core, and features a sleek cannelure-free profile that encounters minimal resistance as it zips through the air. If your barrel is 24" long with a 1:8” or faster rate of twist, the 145 grain Match Burner ought to exhibit its advertised G7 0.350 ballistic coefficient (G1 0.703). And if your sights are 1.5” high, you can expect a trajectory to 1,000 yards which pinnacles at a low 82.5”.
Barnes is HQ’d in the great state of Utah, which is where they load their Precision Match series ammo with match primers, match cases, and – that’s right – match propellant.
