The TAC-TX BT bullet was originally designed for Barnes’ military and law enforcement customers, although VOR-TX series ammunition is specifically marketed for peaceful applications. The TAC-TX BT is made of solid copper, which poses several benefits even in areas where you aren’t legally obligated to forgo lead bullets. The TAC-TX BT will keep your bore unfouled by lead before its superior rotational stability promotes even greater accuracy, and it will exhibit nearly 100% weight retention as it penetrates the quarry deeply – without depositing toxic metal inside its meat.
Unlike the TAC-X, the TAC-TX has a polymer tip. This complements the bullet’s boat tail (BT) to promote even greater accuracy, and also drives into the underlying nose cavity after impact to reliably produce double-diameter expansion. Rather than merely mushrooming, the TAC-TX BT curls out four razor-sharp cutting petals to cut a wide wound channel into its recipient. Long-range accuracy and massive stopping power – bad news for a buck.
Barnes loads the 115 grain TAC-TX with a premium reloadable brass case, as well as propellant that helps its lead-free bullet deliver even cleaner performance. Great for ARs!
