A: Thank you for reaching out! While you could conceivably hunt with this cartridge, its bullet is not designed for that. An "open tip" bullet may look like a hollow point, but it does not in fact expand within soft tissue. The opening in its tip actually exists because this bullet's lead core was poured into place through it while it was still molten. This means the bullet's core is extremely uniformly distributed, and also that its base is jacketed, both of which convey better accuracy. An open tip is in effect optimized for recreational long distance shooting!
