We mostly just tried to flirt with Jenna Strickland back in high school science class, so we couldn’t tell you what number copper is on the periodic table. But we can tell you that copper is an excellent way to put food on the dinner table. This 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge by Federal proves it.

This round showcases Federal’s 120 grain Trophy Copper projectile. With the exception of its polymer tip it is made entirely out of copper, so it exhibits as much as 99 percent weight retention as it blasts through a buck’s solid insides. That polymer tip smashes into the Trophy Copper’s nose cavity throughout all that blasting, yielding deadly wide expansion as it drives deeper and deeper inward.

And the Trophy Copper delivers such deadly terminal performance with startling accuracy. Its sharp polymer tip and sleek boat tail bring its ballistic coefficient up to around 0.5 at a muzzle velocity of 2,875 fps, and its grooved shank helps to prevent rapid copper fouling of the barrel. The monolithic Trophy Copper also has no jacket irregularities that could have harmed its rotational stability because it has no jacket!

Federal sets this gem of a bullet in a fine brass case, complete with a non-corrosive primer and clean burning propellant to send it along its way.
