This 500 S&W Magnum cartridge is a bit difficult to classify. Could you use it for hunting any North American game? Unquestionably. Could you use it to instantly turn an aggressive grizzly into the most killed thing ever? Undoubtedly. Could you use it to show your pals just how powerful the 500 Mag truly can be? Surely, but you’d better warn them that they’re signing up for a remarkable hands-on demonstration in recoil!

This cartridge is loaded with a wide flat nose hard cast projectile. It is mostly made of lead, although it is too thoroughly alloyed to exhibit any significant deformation as it careens through its target. Its cylindrical profile is certain to punch a nasty half-inch hole through anything it plows into. Its Black Cherry polymer coating protects the bore from abrasion, and also eliminates any and all fouling. It’s set in a corrosion-resistant nickel-plated brass case, and it’s backed by Underwood’s own specially formulated low-flash propellant.

Important! As you may already have sensed, this ammo is powerful. That’s why Underwood advises against loading more than two rounds in the cylinder at a time if your revolver’s barrel is shorter than 4”. Otherwise the round’s colossal recoil can cause the chambered rounds’ bullets to creep out of their cases.
