The United Metallic Cartridge Company is long gone and forgotten – or at least it would be if not for Remington, which honors the old ammo manufacturer’s memory with their UMC label products. Loaded in strict accordance with Americans’ favorite specifications, UMC ammo always delivers the goods!

This reloadable cartridge received its virgin brass case, noncorrosive Boxer primer and low-residue propellant in the great state of Arkansas. That’s also where it was furnished with its 55 grain full metal jacket projectile – the preferred solution for target shooting and high-volume plinking. So long as you don’t expect the FMJ to expand upon striking soft tissue, you’ll appreciate everything else it has to offer: an aerodynamic frontal profile that helps to conserve downrange velocity, a flat base which promotes better overall accuracy, and a completely steel-free design which makes it suitable for ranges which ban “magnetic ammo.”

Please note that Remington identifies this round’s bullet as a “metal case.” It is identical in form and function to the bullet most people call a full metal jacket.
