We don’t know of any law enforcement agencies that issue 5.7x28mm pistols. But if there were, they would probably issue Speer Gold Dot ammunition right alongside them. These are among the finest self-defense rounds in the land – a must-buy if you intend to thwart attacks on your life with a Five-seveN or Ruger-5.7!

The Gold Dot projectile is a flat-flying, resilient and reliable projectile. The 40 grain jacketed hollow point’s jacket is created via Speer’s proprietary Uni-Cor process, which involves soaking the lead core in electrified chemicals where it bonds to copper atoms one at a time. The resultant jacket is perfectly concentric and abnormally tough, so it glides across a predictable trajectory and pierces barriers without excessively detaching from the core.

The Gold Dot’s nose cavity is formed in two stages: the first to establish how wide it can expand, and the second to program how quickly it can expand. It’s finally finished to create the smooth profile that optimizes feeding in a semi-auto.

Nickel-plated brass cases? Of course – these are premium self-defense loads, after all. Nickel keeps the brass from getting tarnished in storage, and it also cuts down on abrasion that could cause a very poorly timed feeding or extraction failure.
