We wish 5.7x28mm enthusiasts had an easier time finding their ammo, but we guess that’s just the price they have to pay for living in the future. But hey! Your life’s about to get a little bit easier, because we have FN Herstal’s very own range ammo in stock.
This is SS201 spec ammunition. It doesn’t have the same 40 grain V-MAX projectiles as SS197SR spec 5.7, but its 40 grain full metal jackets do a great job simulating the recoil, velocity and accuracy of the more expensive hunting/self-defense loads. These round’s non-expanding FMJs are perfectly nonmagnetic, so no worries there. Their 1,700 fps muzzle velocity was recorded with a Five-seveN pistol (4.8” barrel). You can expect a 2,040 fps muzzle velocity if you’re firing a PS90 BullPup (or other firearm with a 16” barrel).
This ammo’s lead-core FMJs are seated in new and smooth-cycling brass cases, which are reloadable and armed with noncorrosive Boxer primers. A great pick for all 5.7 firearms, including those which aren’t made by FN Herstal!
