A: You would! An AR-15 will not cycle blanks unless it's installed with a blank-firing adapter. Otherwise all the propellant gasses will vent out the muzzle and fail to operate the gas impingement system. You can find blank-firing adapters online, although I regret we don't offer them.

A: That's a very interesting question! Now, I wouldn't say I'm a skilled enough reloader to pull that off, put I do believe it is possible.
