A: Thanks for reaching out Connor! To be sure, neither the TMK or OTM is ideal for self-defense, as neither type of bullet is designed to expand inside soft tissue. That said, I'd prefer the TMK if only because it's lighter and slightly less likely to overpenetrate its target.
We have currently got M855 ammo in stock by IMI. I believe it's the best 5.556 ammo for self-defense we have currently got in stock. While the M855 bullet does not expand, it does have a fairly good chance of breaking in half during penetration to track two separate wound channels. Also, its steel tip helps it to penetrate barriers including sheet metal and wall board – quite useful if the threat has taken cover.
