This 5.56x45mm ammo by PMC is loaded with “light armor piercing” bullets. The LAP is functionally identical to the M855 bullet, right down to its green-painted tip. The front half of the LAP’s core is made of steel, which hardens the bullet so it can – you guessed it – effectively pierce armor.

This LAP ammo doesn’t violate the ATF ban on armor piercing ammo. That particular ban applies to handgun ammo – not rifle ammo, such as 5.56.* Just make sure you know this before ordering:
• Many indoor ranges prohibit M855 and all other ammo with “magnetic” bullets
• M855 ammunition damages steel targets
• M855 exhibits its best long-range accuracy with a 1:10–1:8” twist; faster and slower twist rates are still adequate

PMC loads military-grade ammo in South Korea with military-grade cases: brass, reloadable, and intentionally unpolished around the neck. Noncorrosive Boxer primers; this is not military surplus. It is packaged on clips, in bandoliers, in a military-grade ammo can. Perfect for stockpiling, and a new airtight M2A1 never ruined any ammo enthusiast’s day.
