Igman is based in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they produce a variety of small arms ammunition for export throughout the world. This is their version of our Army’s own M855: a 5.56x45 cartridge with a steel core bullet.

The M855 bullet is seven grains heavier than usual because it contains a steel penetrator tip. This fortifies the bullet to help it defeat barriers, and it will even penetrate a 1/8” thick sheet of steel at 650 yards. The M855 bullet’s core is made of lead at the base, and the whole projectile is enveloped in a gilding metal jacket for smoother and cleaner performance. This magnetic bullet will give you the best accuracy in conjunction with a 1:8 or 1:9 twist barrel.

Igman manufactures ammo according to American standards. That means this ammo is brass-cased and Boxer primed, which helps promote cleaner performance and also makes it reloadable. Expend this ammo at the range if you like, but it’s just as good to keep among your other emergency supplies!
