What is a frangible bullet? SinterFire makes theirs out of powdered tin and copper, which they heat up and compress without going so far as to melt them together. The end product is a bullet solid enough to endure feeding in a semi-auto as well as ignition. But when a frangible bullet collides with a surface harder than itself – steel or concrete, for example – it smashes apart into dust.

Compared to a traditional FMJ which is made of solid copper and lead, a frangible bullet is a lot safer to fire at solid objects. If you’re doing tactical training with nearby steel targets, or shooting against a backdrop that could have metal or rocks behind it, this 5.56x45 AR-15 ammo will present virtually zero risk of a dangerous ricochet or splash-back. As a bonus, SinterFire’s nontoxic bullet won’t cloud up an indoor range with airborne lead particles!

This round’s brass case is brand new – any discoloration around its neck is only evidence that it has been correctly heat-treated, thus ensuring its suppleness and durability. The American manufacturer’s non-corrosive Boxer primers make their cases ideal for handloading, and their clean burning propellant complements their clean shooting bullet!
